SUGGEST REPLACE FUEL CAP AND RECHECK. CODE P0024 EXTENDED CRANK, LOAD TESTED BATTERY, FAILED TEST. SUGGEST REPLACE BATTERY, CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM. FOR CODE P0024: VISUAL INSPECTION OF CMP (CAMSHAFT POSITION SOLENOID) WIRING AND CONNECTOR, OK. (NO BROKEN AND CORRODED WIRES FOUND). REMOVED ACTUATOR AND INSPECTED FOR BROKEN SCREEN, OK. NO OIL SEEPAGE THROUGH SOLENOID. CHECKED RESISTANCE: SPEC IS 7-12 OHMS. ACTUAL IS 8.8 OHMS, OK. FOLLOWED SHOP KEY PROCEDURES FOR DIAGNOSTICS: WILL NEED TO REMOVE ECM DUE TO LOCATION TO PERFORM CIRCUIT TESTING.
- REMOVED ECM AND PERFORMED RESISTANCE CHECK ON CONTROL CIRCUIT, OK. PERFORMED LOAD TEST ON CONTROL CIRCUIT, OK. PER SHOP KEY DIAGNOSTICS PROCEDURE, RECOMMEND REPLACE ECM AND RETEST. FOR A/C – FOUND BLOWN FUSE, REPLACED FUSE AND TESTED POWERS AND GROUNDS, EVERYTHING CHECKS OK. A/C CLUTCH IS CYCLING ON BUT NOT OFF. SPUN A/C CLUTCH BY HAND AND THERE IS NO RESISTANCE FELT. PERFORMED RESISTANCE TEST ON CLUTCH SWITCH, OK. FUSE HAS NOT YET BLOWN. INSPECTED FURTHER AND FOUND RELAY WAS INSTALLED BACKWARDS. RE-INSTALLED CORRECTLY AND A/C CLUTCH IS NOW CYCLING NORMALLY. INSTALLED NEW FUEL CAP. CLEARED CODES AND TEST DROVE VEHICLE 3 MILES, EVAP CODE HAS NOT RETURNED.

- RECOMMEND REPLACE BATTERY FIRST.
- AFTER PCM WAS REPLACED, CLEARED CODES AND OAD TESTED, NO CODES HAVE RETURNED YET. MORE DRIVING WILL NEED TO HAPPEN FOR EVAP AND CATALYST MONITORS TO RUN AND FOR PCM TO RE-ADAPT TO VEHICLE.
